Welcome to our website of Standard Longhaired Dachshunds. This breed with its gentle character has taken a huge place in our hearts, and it also fascinates our friends, neighbours and even passers-by. We hope that you will also be delighted with these clever, nice, proud and lovely puppies and join the ranks of dachshunds’ lovers.

Why “EOS Kometa“? Everything is very simple. I wanted my name Aušra to be a part of our kennel’s name; however it contains Lithuanian letter “š”, which maybe misunderstood in foreign countries. Therefore I remembered EOS – dawn goddess of ancient Greece (Aušra means “dawn” in English). The word “comet“is derived from Greek language where “kometes” means “longhaired” (aster kometes – a longhaired star), which is an allusion to the tail of comet (source: http://lt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kometa).

Our kennel is located in a quiet suburb of Šiauliai town in Lithuania, which is called Gegužiai. We have a private house and some space around. At the moment we own two bitches living with us. In the future we are planning to expand our kennel up to not more than five grown up dogs as it seems important to be able to pay enough time, attention and, of course, love to all of them.

All our dogs have pedigree certificates. The kennel is registered in Lithuanian Cynological Society and Fédération Cynologique Internacionale (FCI). Our dogs‘pedigrees are presented in Our dogs.

I look for the best males for my bitches, i.e. the ones that have both very good physical characteristics and nice fur, and also stable nervous system. All the information about present and planned litters can be found in Puppies.

I hope that our puppies will participate in dog shows and make the name of our kennel well-known.
